Who would have thought that tiny cinema in Roath, the one that has been closed for years, would actually be reopened as a concert venue. All be it probably a small one I am sure that this little venue has a great future.
As I have not yet experienced the venue (the first gig is set for 22nd November 2008 and it's only the 14th today) here is what The Globe has to say about itself:

Now if you are a virgin of gigs at The Point, which is in fact a converted church, what better gig to start with than James Marsters (Spike to all those caught up in the Buffyverse ;o) ) . Small inside, and standing only on the main floor, but what an amazing atmosphere around you.
If that isn't your cup of tea then check out the website for all upcoming gigs. To give an idea of the type of music on offer: The Damned, Bad Manners, Soundtrack film festival music with DJs and a Burlesque christmas event!! What is the silent disco all about !!!???

*On show nights the Ticket and Information Desk stays open for sale for 30 minutes after the start of the last performance.
The WMC opened in Cardiff Bay in 2004. This impressively designed centre for the arts hosts a variety of shows including - operas, concerts, dance shows, west end musicals, and stand-up comedy shows.
Special events such as all day themed workshops are also held, such as the recent all day Salsa event, that gave visitors a taste of the different styles of dance from South America.
You can visit the WMC for a meal and a tour of the centre, or you may prefer to enjoy an art exhibition and a coffee.
